Liebrary game

I played a new game (at least to me) called liebrary. It is a takeoff of the game Dictionary. There are 5 catagories, with cards. Each card has a book title and author and a brief discription of the book. Each person writes the first line of the book, then everyone votes on which they think it is. It was kind of fun, but only got to write for 3 books.

Mice

So what is this gross stuff that we all clean out of computer mice? It is gross enough to clean out my own let alone the public computer mice. Gotta get my hazard gloves on.

Ironic

The Cesar Milan's book Cesar's Way came in for a patron this morning with dog tooth marks on the cover.

I for one will NOT happily pay monies for all of the brain dead people who play their music too loudly with earphone stuck in their ears. And why aren't these people working, or at least trying to find jobs?

Just got back from the big apple. Yep this country girl went to New York. Saw La Traviata at the Met. Amazing sets. Renee Fleming was the soprano. T'was good, but once in a lifetime thing, at least for me.

Teens come up to us quite frequently and ask if we have some headphones for them to use. Can you say ear wax? Maybe we should have public headphones for them.

Speaking of bookmarks

Can't stand it when people use their own hair as a bookmark. Think of all those little bitty lice crawling up and down the hair.

Kleenex

Okay, so someone (who shall remain nameless) calls me the Queen of Gross, but I do draw the line at used kleenex. Nothing grosser than finding a used tissue doing double duty as a bookmark. If I have to pick one up off the floor, I use pencils as chopsticks.

Dedicating my blog

I have decided, because I am truly a boring person, that I am dedicating this blog to mostly gross things.
Like what is it that when you go to check in books they are wet, and it isn't even raining. EWWWWWWWWWWW

Mopping

Boy have I missed mopping up water here. I finally got a chance to last night. Water was dripping from the ceiling in the children's room. I went upstairs and found a large puddle. I turned off the water and started mopping. Yipeee the old days!

So how many people are going to go see the movie about librarians at St. Francis? I think they will take a bath by giving librarians free tickets. Hope it is a good one.

What has happened to all the Bookmobiles?

Yippee, I will try this again.
Having been the substitute driver on many occasions I wonder if they all have been consigned to the library in the sky? By the time that the library sold them it was impossible to get parts to repair them. For a few years afterward I did see some in parking lots around the city, now I don't.
